Detailed description of Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club, Loomis Trail

S

emiahmoo Golf & Country Club is a Semi-Private, 36 hole golf facility located in Blaine, Washington, two hours north of Seattle and 45 minutes south of Vancouver. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. The are The Loomis Trail Golf Course and The Semiahmoo Golf Course.

The first of the two courses to open was Semiahmoo Golf Course, an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay design that opened for play in 1987. Loomis Trail Golf course was designed by Graham Cooke. Loomis Trail opened in 1992.

The Loomis Trail Course __________

The Loomis Trail Course has open fairways and medium-sized greens that are relatively flat and fast. An extensive canal and lake system brings water into play on all 18 holes, giving Loomis Trail one of the highest slope ratings in Washington.

The course is open to the public on even days of the month.

Black tees: par-72, 7,137 yards, 75.0 / 142
Blue tees: par-72, 7,137 yards, 72.1 / 137
White tees: par-72, 7,137 yards, 69.8 / 131(M), 76.9 / 131
Yellow tees: par-72, 7,137 yards, 67.7 / 129(M)
Red tees: par-72, 7,137 yards, 72.7 / 121(W)
Orange tees: par-72, 7,137 yards, 62.4 / 128(M), 65.6 / 115

The Semiahmoo Course __________

Semiahmoo plays to a par 72 qand maximum distance of 7,005 yards. The Forward tees measure 5,299 yards.

The Semiahmoo Course is a heavily-wooded design, has relatively large, contoured greens and plenty of sand bunkers.  Hole #11, a 371-yard, par 4, features a fingery bunker between the fairway and the lake on the right.  And with a cove of the lake eating into the fairway on the right before the green, there's little to be gained by cutting across the corner on this hole.

Semiahmoo is open to the public on odd days of the month.
